OUR HISTORY

Model City Church is a vision received by Pastor Jide Adebule in November 2016 of a city on a hill that leads people to model the work and character of Christ. After serving under the leadership of Pastor Tola and Kofo Odutola for 15 years, Pastor Jide was released amicably to fully dedicate himself to the vision of Model City Church.

He is passionate about leading others to Christ and making Him the center of who they are, and is excited to impact the community and beyond.

Our Story

ONLINE LAUNCH

At Model City Church, we have a saying: “We serve an unusual God, which is why we launched in an unusual year and an unusual way.” Originally, we had planned a physical launch in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to rethink our approach.

Despite the challenges of the lockdown, we continued to plan and pray, hoping for an opportunity to launch. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we decided to launch online, even though we didn’t have a playbook to follow. We were blessed to secure a former doctor’s office that we could rent and use to set up our equipment for online streaming.

Our Story

IN PERSON LAUNCH

On September 20th, 2020, Model City Church launched online, with over a hundred people tuning in to our first service. We were overjoyed by the turnout and grateful for the support. Then, on March 24, 2021, we launched our physical service at the Cinemark Theater in Arundel Mills, Hanover, with 70 people in attendance. It’s been an unusual journey, but we’re grateful for all the ways that God has blessed us along the way.

Our Story

OUR MISSION

We exist as a  city on a hill, modeling the work and character of Christ, leading people to make Him the center of who they are. Despite the turmoil in the world today, we remain confident that God has placed us in the perfect position to bring hope and freedom to our local communities.

OUR VISION

As a church our vision is to be the place where people find faith, family, freedom, and a future. The recent global pandemic, economic recession, and sociopolitical unrest have impacted us all. Despite this, the church remains committed to shining light into the darkness and modeling Christ as the hope of the world. Our goal is to transform people’s lives by making Christ the center of who they are.
